PM Marlin hosts Queens Dinner

13 MARCH 2017

PHILIPSBURG--Prime Minister William Marlin hosted the ladies of the Junior, Teen, Senior and Miss Mature pageants at a Queens Dinner on Saturday evening. The four reigning Carnival queens were also present for the special evening.

Posh Productions Chief Executive Officer Anna Rabess-Richardson welcomed the delegates to the dinner and thanked Prime Minister Marlin for agreeing to host this event at Sheer Restaurant. “This is a first for us. We hope this becomes an annual event, because these types of dinners are customary for contestants to sit with Government prior to the show and allow the reigning queens to give speeches,” stated Richardson.

The ladies were treated to a full-course dinner and dessert.

In his address Marlin wished the ladies all the best in their respective competitions and called on the delegates to give it their all. “If you are here just for the experience then you have already lost. Set your mind to perform and give a great show and you will do great things. We decided this year to also introduce another award to one of the four reigning queens,” stated Marlin.

Posh Productions found it fitting to introduce a Chrystal award that will go to a queen for her outstanding work in the community during her reign. “It is with great pleasure that we give the first Chrystal award to Norrisa Anatol who did a great job and was very active during her 2016-2017 reign,” said Marlin.

Richardson echoed his words and said Anatol had been in the media twice a month doing something to give back to the community. “This is remarkable and you are an inspiration. We at Posh are proud of you, and the next queen will have big shoes to fill,” Richardson said before joining her for a group photo.
