Audit Chamber presents 2011 report to Governor St. Maarten

HARBOUR VIEW--The 2011 Annual Report of the General Audit Chamber was presented to Governor Eugene Holiday on Friday by Acting Audit Chamber Chairman Ronald Halman and board member Alphons Gumbs. Each year, the General Audit Chamber is required by law (National Ordinance on the General Audit Chamber) to present an activities report to the Governor and Parliament.

Halman was accompanied by board member Gumbs and staff member Melisah Gomes for the official presentation that took place at the Cabinet of the Governor.

The Annual Report of the General Audit Chamber is required to be presented to the Parliament as well as the Governor prior to July 1 of each year. Presentation to the president of Parliament took place on June 20.

On October 10, 2010, the General Audit Chamber was established along with the Country Status for St. Maarten. The year 2011 represents the first full operational year for the General Audit Chamber.
