The Foreign Trade Statistics (FTS), first quarter 2016, publication contains information on Imports to Aruba, Imports to the Free Zone Aruba, Exports from Aruba and Exports from the Free Zone Aruba. It includes comparisons between the quarters of 2015 and 2016. The 2015 and 2016 figures should still be considered as provisional. The CBS developed a system which made it possible to process the Foreign Trade data according to General Trade System.

The 1st of March 2014, the Customs Department implemented a new program that reformed the Customs clearance process, "ASYCUDA" (Automated SYstem for CUstoms DAtay). This is a computerized customs management system designed by UNCTAD to assist customs authorities all over the world to automate and control their core processes. This system takes into account the international Harmonized Commodity Description, coding System (generally referred to as "Harmonized System or simply "HS") and standards developed by ISO (International Organization for Standardization), WCO (World Customs Organization) and the United Nations. It also generates trade data that can be used for statistical economic analysis and which can support government projections and planning.
