Condolence book and memorial service for the late Neville York

12 May 2017

PHILIPSBURG–The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports (ECYS) and the Government of St. Maarten have made a memorial table and condolence book for the late Neville York available at the reception area of the new Government Administration Building.

The public can sign the book as of today, Friday, between 8:00am to 5:00pm.

The Ministry in collaboration with York’s family will host a cultural manifestation/wake in front of the new Government Administration Building this Saturday from 6:00 to 10:00pm. Members of the public who knew York are invited to join to celebrate his life.

Persons wanting to pay a special tribute at the wake or the funeral service should contact Natasha Serrant at 1-721-520-1892 today by 4:00pm.

York served as the Head of the Culture Department and was a cultural icon in his own right. The long-time civil servant died suddenly of a heart attack at the St. Maarten Medical Center Emergency Room on Tuesday.
